Recognize Speech error

Status:
Completed
by Gordo Level 4 ‎11-17-2014 02:29 - edited ‎11-17-2014 03:17

Hi,

I'm trying to use the speech API to process a small snippet of video. I'm uploading the data via curl using the following:

curl "https://api.idolondemand.com/1/api/sync/recognizespeech/v1" -X POST -H Content-Type:multipart/form-data; --insecure -o response.json -F apikey=<APIKEY> -F language=enuk -F file=@trimmed-2.mp4

The response I get is :

{
"error": 7000,
"reason": "Request took too long"
}

I'm aware that I can use the async methods to avoid this but would prefer sync methods if possible.

Thanks

Gordon

When I perform a synchronous call to the sentiment analysis API via the HOD Python module and the first non-space character in the input text is & or #, the output is None.

Hello,

I send a text less than 100 chars (~10 words) and the API gives the following response (it doesn't recognize the language):

{
  "language": "unknown",
  "language_iso639_2b": "und",
  "encoding": "UTF8",
  "unicode_scripts": [
    "Basic Latin"
  ]
}

I decided to put more text ~300 chars (~40 words) and now it give this:

{
  "error": 5003,
  "reason": "Job actions failed",
  "actions": [
    {
      "status": "failed",
      "action": "identifylanguage",
      "version": "v1",
      "errors": [
        {
          "error": 5003,
          "reason": "Job result was invalid"
        }
      ]
    }
  ],
  "jobID": "usw1p_2f96eff6-7bc2-40cc-b991-1975d09b375d",
  "status": "failed"
}

Entity extraction - source text

Status:
Completed
by Level 4 John Level 4 on ‎07-15-2014 03:20

Hi,

I'm using the attached sample document for entity extraction and I get the following output:

{
  "entities": [
    {
      "normalized_text": "Hewlett-Packard Co",
      "original_text": "Hewlett-Packard Co",
      "type": "companies_eng",
      "normalized_length": 18,
      "original_length": 18,
      "score": 0.294,
      "additional_information": {},
      "components": []
    }
  ]
}

Now, in the source document it does not say 'Hewlett-Packard Co' but just 'Hewlett-Packard'. I thought I would be able to use the 'original_text' output in the JSON to highlight the extracted entities in the original document but it doesn't look like I can. What does this 'original_text' actually tell me, and how can I find the text in the original document which has triggered the entity to be extracted?

Thanks

I am trying any API call. For example, the List Indexes.
https://www.idolondemand.com/developer/apis/listindexes#try

Expecting to see a correct result, I surprisingly receive a code 500 error.

{
  "error": 1000,
  "reason": "MISCONF Redis is configured to save RDB snapshots, but is currently not able to persist on disk. Commands that may modify the data set are disabled. Please check Redis logs for details about the error."
}

This should be fixed now. Let us know if you are still seeing issues!

Create Text Indexes

Status:
Completed
by Gordo Level 4 on ‎12-03-2014 02:00

When I try and create a text index with custom fields via the URL : https://www.idolondemand.com/account/text-indexes.html

The UI responds with

"Unable to create text index: Job actions failed"

I've got

2 index fields : title,content

1 parametric field: LOCATIONNAME

2 numeric fields: NUMREVIEWS,AVERAGERATING

Is it something I'm doing wrong or a problem with the backend? It worked yesterday when I created a similar index

Thanks

Gordon

Hi Gordo,

Based on our investigations it appears your issue UI issue co-incided with a temporary API issue that is now resolved.

What does error code 7007 mean?

Status:
Completed
by Ward Level 3 on ‎08-06-2014 09:35

I'm receiving a new error code occassionally when trying to load and create a text index: 7007?  Looks like this error code isn't documented here:

https://www.idolondemand.com/developer/docs/ErrorCodes.html

Status:
Completed

Ward,

Code 7007 indicates the client closed the connection before the call was completed.

This can be due to network issues, or some cases due to a low timeout on the client.   In particular Salesforce APEX has a default timeout of 10 seconds. (https://www.salesforce.com/us/developer/docs/apexcode/Content/apex_callouts_timeouts.htm)

We've updated the Error Codes page to include this error.

Regards

We created Categorization Flavor Index using "Create Text Index" service. But there is no documentation on how to create categories under this index and train them using boolean or proximity operators. Can you please point me to the document regasrding this or give me the steps to do this ?

Key Management Service Error 5100

Status:

by bcormode New Member on ‎04-28-2016 01:49

I'm trying to create a Standard text index using the 'Create Text Index' on the Try It interface.

I was able to create and delete a Text Index earlier today (a couple of times), but now it's not working.

I'm getting the following error:

{
  "error": 5100,
  "reason": "Job actions failed",
  "actions": [
    {
      "errors": [
        {

        }
      ],
      "status": "failed",
      "action": "createtextindex",
      "version": "v1"
    }
  ],

}

I checked my Account Subscription Quotas and they seem to be fine.

View Document - "Error 5000"

Status:
Completed
by GuillermoGomez New Member on ‎03-07-2016 09:44

Hi,

The view document feature was working fine for me about a week ago in my project.  Then I suddenly started recieving errors any time I make a request to the document viewer.  Other parts of the API work just fine, such as the text extraction.

When testing on the haven on demand website I recieve the same errors (Tried this for both .docx and .txt files):

{
  "error": 5000,
  "reason": "Job actions failed",
  "actions": [
    {
      "errors": [
        {
          "error": 5000,
          "reason": "Backend request failed",
          "detail": "Worker request failed"
        }
      ],
      "status": "failed",
      "action": "viewdocument",
      "version": "v1"
    }
  ],
  "status": "failed"
}

All the files I have tried so far do contain content and I am not just passing it an empty file.

Any suggestions to fixing this problem is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm using the entity extraction API and finding that 'Robert Pattinson' is extracted from my uploaded document. The only Robert in the document is 'Robert Newman'. I understand that entity extraction can never be perfect but I'm at a loss to understand why it would default to Mr. Pattinson...

Can you suggest any methods to avoid this kind of errant disambiguation?

500 - Backend Request Failed

Status:

by justing Level 2 on ‎12-05-2015 12:43

Hi,

While attempting to use the view document API, I've recently started hitting a 500 internal error - here's the JSON

{
    "error": 5000,
    "reason": "Job actions failed",
    "actions": [
        {
            "errors": [
                {
                    "error": 5000,
                    "reason": "Backend request failed",
                    "detail": "Worker request failed"
                }
            ],
            "status": "failed",
            "action": "viewdocument",
            "version": "v1"
        }
    ],
    "status": "failed"
}

Is this a configuration issue on our part?

Hi, I use the ViewDocument api to convert PDF's to HTML. This service now is not working for a few days. Not using the API but also not when trying on this website. What's wrong?

Thanks.

Hi eelcol, torma24,

Thank you for taking a time to report your issue.

Our team did identify the issue, which was being caused by unexpected data causing large number of the backend components to fail and resulting in some user request failing.

We have since pushed updates to ensure improved availability of the View API.

Do let us know if you have any further questions.

Regards
