I am trying to work out how much the Speech Recognition service costs, in API units and actual monetary value...but it's a little confusing.
I am currently a Fremium user while we trial the system, and as such I should be getting 10k API units per month (according to https://dev.havenondemand.com/pricing) , and yet I have been getting 50k units per month for over 6 months. Should I get 10k or 50k units per month?
Secondly, when I submit 20 minutes of audio to your speech recognition API it consumes 1 API Unit, as per my usage quota page: https://www.havenondemand.com/account/usage-quotas.html
However, according to your API and Resource Unit Consumption document (https://dev.havenondemand.com/docs/Quotas_APIResourceConsumption.html) Speech Recognition consumes 1 API Unit per second of audio, but it seems to be consuming 1 unit, regardless of the audio length.
What is the real cost? According to the documentation it should be a lot more expensive than I'm actually seeing.
Thank you for your interest in Haven OnDemand.
It does appear you account has been undercharged for your usage. Our engineers have rectified, but we won't apply retrospectively.
You'll also may be interest to hear that from December 1st we'll be reducing the rate to 1 API Unit per 2 seconds of audio.
Do let us know if there is anything else we can be doing to assist.
